Last night saw the first broadcast in the two-part PartyPoker.com Premier League final on Channel 4 in the U.K. with U.S. pro Annie Duke the first and only elimination. The thrilling finale of the series saw Lithuanian Tony G surge to chip leader
with 530,000 followed by Brit Roland De Wolfe (384,000), Irishman Andy Black (279,000), Russian Alex Kravchenko (234,000), and Dutchman Marcel Luske (143,000).
The second and concluding episode of this ground-breaking series is broadcast on Channel 4 next Tuesday night/Wednesday morning at 00.25 a.m.
Duke busted after 49 hands after reraising Kravchenko all-in preflop with A-J offsuit. The Russian had 8-7 suited and hit two pair — with a 7 falling on the river.
A spokesman for the Matchroom Sport organized event said, “The short stack has fallen but in Annie Duke a very dangerous player has left the table. There is a lot of play left but Tony G remains in the box seat, the same place he was at the start of the final table”.
